112 blocks

Many blocks later...I finally have the second row on the quilt. Lots of sewing. A few decisions to be made about placement of blocks...

Then there is all the pressing of the seams.... I do love quilting.

As I laid the quilt out on my bed, to take a progress picture,

I was looking at my wall paper....

I would so love to make a quilt for our room. The wall paper is a lot, I would like it to accent, not compete with...Should I go monochromatic?
Which color? Or, should I pick out several colors in the wall paper? I should also add that the carpet is deep wine color.

Wow, you are amazing. I LOVE wallpaper. Not sure if you are asking for advice, but if you are, what about a quilt in complementing colors (like all greens or browns or yellows)?

Yes, I am looking for suggestions. The whole color thing is something I'm still learning. I'm most comfortable wearing gray or black...My very own quilt for our room, I so want to be special. I'm probably making it more difficult than it has to be. I'd welcome any suggestions.

Hi Marcia: I think this is a case of "less is more" and that a blend of off white, cream, ecru and beiges in a very simple block pattern and with perhaps just a touch of the palest sage. With a busy, but very pretty wallpaper and a dark carpet picking up the deepest red/burgundy tone, this should look stunning.

your quilt is looking great!

I think making a quilt for your own bedroom (or for any of the beds in your own house) can be most difficult. there are so many factors to take into account. and once you make a quilt, you will want to stick with it for a long time. for your room I am agreeing with Janet, something in neutral tones would be wonderful.
