Some cute applique = adorable dish towels. I keep finding all these cute dressed up dishtowels, but not making them. I need to move that up on my list of things to do...

Little project

I had an old book cover like this. It was getting worn out. The attached ribbon book mark is my favorite feature. It's the simple things. I got started and ended up with three different covers in no time.

Currently behind the cover: Texas It's part of the Wagons West series by Dana Fuller Ross. Something fun to read to help wind down after work at night.

Paper piecing

Class Saturday was awesome! We learned Judy Niemeyer's method of speed cutting and paper piecing. We learned how to organize our stuff. These triangles aren't really staying by each other, but I wanted to get an idea of what it's going to look like together. I have 42 different batiks for this project. Some of the gals in the class were making larger quilts and had 100 or more different fabrics!
Instead of hitting all the Super Bowl Sales yesterday, I stayed home. Dumped my sewing room into my bedroom, reorganized, and moved it all back in. I feel so much more inspired to work in there again (now that I can move around in there....) I'm sure a few of you know what I mean...

These are some of the Batiks I've been collecting. Tomorrow I'm taking a paper piecing class with Darla. We are going to be working on Indian Summer. The one Darla made is a beauty. I hope mine turns out just as nice.
Block 2 of Under the Sea is ready to download.

Quilts for Kids

Cowboy fun! I worked a little on it everyday before work for a couple of days.
I blogged about Quilts for Kids here. They sure sent some great fabrics. It was such a fun project. I'm planning to make one with local fabrics to send along with this one too. At the website, they have 4 different quilt patterns available to download.

It still needs machine quilted and binding, but I'm so please with this little kit and being able to give it back to someone who will hopefully find some comfort with it.

Sewing Misc.

Mary Kay's Apron - Pattern by Glenna. Such a sweet apron top. This is my second one...I think I'm getting the hang of them.
I recently bought yards of this snow monkey fabric on sale. I made 4 pillowcases to take out West with us for my son and some of his friends.
