Paper Piecing

I took a basic paper piecing class prior to Christmas. Darla, taught it and is hosting a paper piecing friendship group once a month at my local quilt shop. Today was that day...

I printed out this template to use. It would work following the tutorial at Melly and Me. I guess I have more of this fabric than I thought. I'm hoping to have enough to do another baby quilt. This one I'll donate to our NICU. I worked on something else that I'll show you another day, so I was only able to get this much done today while we met.

Darla says either you love or hate paper piecing....I love it!

They look great! Did you make them by hand or on the machine? I'm also paper piecing some blocks I will show them next week. Are you using regular paper? Last week I tried regular paper for the first time I usually use nappy liners for paper piecing.

your blocks look great! I, for one, don't care for paper piecing, but I am thinking about working on some (with my own pattern!) log cabin blocks for a teeny tiny quilt. because if you hate paper piecing, you might as well try it small scale, because that will make it better, right? sometimes I drive myself crazy! :)

your fabrics are very sweet together.

so nice of you to donate a quilt to the NICU. And such a pretty one too, mom's will love going in and seeing something so pretty and bright draped over their little one's isolette.

Or that may use it as a grieving quilt since it is so lovely.

Thanks for taking the time and interest to bring a little something beautiful to an NICU mom's day, they need all the uplifting they can get.
