This is what I see when I look up from my computer now. I'm so not showing you my cluttered computer table...This past Summer, I bought this vintage towel for 50cents at a yard sale. I knew right away it was going to become something like this. I started it way back in November but made a mess, it sat in a pile for a "time out". Finally rescued it today. The chalk marks for quilting are still on it, but I had to see it on the wall. At some point, I'd like to put some more old plates up in the kitchen too.
I learned to make this little "pocket" on the back. A dowel, cut to size, slips right in there and it hangs great. The raw edges of the pocket are under the binding. I'm really pleased with it. I'll take it down tomorrow and wash out those chalk marks...Thanks for seeing it and sharing my excitement. I'm real good at starting things, but don't always have the best completion rate.

It looks great, i think we are all better at starting new things than we are at finishing off.
Lovely! What a good idea. I often find towels like that but I don't want to use them and gorp them all up. Now I might actually buy one...
I love the quilted towel. It looks so nice, chalkmarks and all! I always say I have the best intentions but the worst follow through rate. I have so many projects started and either get frustrated or see something else that I can't wait to start on and then the original item goes to the "I'll finish it later pile".
It think that turned out really nice Marcia. Enjoy it. I am always amazed at how quickly the pile of unfinished objects is growing. On my blog I make a list now of all the unfinished stuff I'm working on But I realised that it doesn't include my unfinished knitting, crochet and cross-stitching projects!
