We're on vacation. I'm reading, cleaning, walking with the hubby. There is back to school shopping to be done. I hope to sneak in a little sewing and knitting. I'll be back to post again the first of September. Enjoy these last few days of Summer.

I made this back in the 80's. I see gingham out there at blogs gaining some popularity again.
I wouldn't mind making this again in red or green, and just a little bit smaller. If anyone wants to try this, I could take more close ups of it to email to you.
I making very slow progress indeed on my mystery quilt. (Been working too much lately to "play") I did get 40 more blocks to look like this. Hopefully tomorrow I can work on 40 more.
My goal is to have the top done by this time next week....

Heatherhalesdesigns posted a tutorial for making a little girl skirt. She used a vintage sheet, but could easily be made from purchased fabric too. Adorable! Check it out here.

Found a free mitten pattern here. The designer request you to knit a pair for charity if you download the pattern.
