Labor Day Weekend

My husband and I had a weekend away. We stopped at the Seney Wildlife Center on our way to the Labor Day Mackinaw Bridge Walk. This was only our second time to participate in this event that is in it's 51st year. The Bridge is 5 miles long and the crowds of people walking are amazing. We paused long enough for this quick pic. Everyone walks from the North to the South. Buses transport walkers back across the bridge.
We took the ferry boat over to Mackinaw Island where I got to meet The Quilted Turtle in person. Liz is a lovely gal. It was very interesting to learn all about Island life. On the Island there are no cars...only horses and bicycles. We got to have lunch with Liz and her husband. I hope our paths cross again soon.

Liz gifted me with this great bag (I always say "A girl can never have too many bags.") And, in my favorite color too! Inside the bag I found some honey from their hive and tulip bulbs.
It was so fun to meet another blogger, some I felt so connected to from reading her posts and sharing a passion for sewing and family life. I couldn't resist this parting shot of beautiful Mackinaw Island, as we took the ferry back.

It sounds like you had a great weekend! As much as I love my kids I'm looking forward to some me and him time. We haven't gone out in over 2 years.

Did you get a haircut? It looks different than other pictures I've seen of you. I love it!!
