It's all about cupcakes

I recently made this above cupcake knitted hat for a co-worker. She is going to have a granddaughter. Her grandson loves cupcakes, so she is putting a cupcake gift bag together for him to give his new sister when she arrives. After I did the hat, I found some great cupcake fabric and made

some cupcake burp cloths and a cupcake bib.

I couldn't resist doing a little cupcake onsie as well. I have a few months yet...any other cup cake ideas out there? I bet her grandma calls her "cupcake" as a nic name when she gets here.

Summer Quilting

I bought these Posh fabric during our recent Shop the Hop. It took no time at all to get the fat quarters cut up. The hard part for me is mixing it all up for the quilt...

I had this past weekend off and spent a large part of it working on my quilt. I'm not sure about the quilting part yet. I'm thinking I'll have this one quilted by a local long arm quilter. Then I'll bind it. My little embroidery project is done too. This whole thing started because of the lovebird embroidery I did quite some time ago now.

There are two smaller pillows to cover yet that will complete the set...I think they will just be patch worked together. I'll leave these out till Fall when I hope to have another small quilt completed with new pillow covers. That way I can "change up" things a little around here.

Teddy Bear Quilt

Our Quilting Guild makes Teddy Bear Quilts for chartiy. I used one of my blotto blocks to make this one.

I'll do a few more with some of the others and probably some throw pillows with a couple too. Originally I was going to donate my color project as a Teddy Bear Quilt, but it turned out pretty big. It also was alot more work than I intended to make for myself....so now it will hang on a wall in my sewing room. (I posted this before, but now it is quilted and bound.)

This is my current project. I bought enough Posh during our local Shop the Hop, to be able to make more slip pillows for the couch and a Crazy Eight Quilt to match. Now, if I can just find some free time to work on it...
The weather is finally warming here. The buds on the trees are just beginning to open. Tulips and daffodils are everywhere. Ü

A little snow left on the ski hill. The hubby and I climbed it this evening.

Thirty one minutes to the top (with a few rest breaks...) We found $2.98 in change along the way that was dropped by snowboarders and skiiers. Ü It's definitely a good workout!
