This little "odor buster" would be great inside Winter boots too.

Martha Stewart's pinecone elf is too cute!

I think this would make a cute pillow topper for Thanksgiving.

I bought these fabrics today to make some rice/wheat bags. There is a nice little poem at this link to attach for gifting.

If you are a scrap book person, LOTS of great gifting ideas for neighbors and friends here.

And, check out this calculator for figuring your backing and binding!

I really want to try this self binding baby blanket.

I love, love this quilt that the Happy Zombie designed. You can now find the free pattern here.

Pleasant Home did it again. (I love her stuff!) She has directions for a pin wheel runner on her blog. She so graciously allows others to use her designs.

Love that sweater pattern!

I know I just showed a sweater like this recently. I loved the pattern so much that I made it again for a friend. This time, instead of knitting the pieces separately, I added the number of stitches for the fronts and back together. It is knitted up to the underarms as written. I cast off six stitches at the underarm spaces. I followed the pattern instructions for knitting the sleeves and yoke. Such a quick knit with great results!

I found some flannel print that matched and added 3 burp clothes to complete the gift.

Next time, I want to make this sweater in a purple... that's right after I get the other two baby sweaters I'm working on currently done of course!

The Small Object, made some adorable stacking Christmas trees. Paired up they are even cuter. This is my first one. I added some little beads around each piece. It worked out okay, but it's cute plain too.
You can find the pattern template here.

This , this , or this would make for jazzed up dishtowels. Use as a gifty or pamper yourself with some for your own kitchen.

Crazy Mom Quilts is using every little piece of scraps...I love it!

Quilt Retreat Projects

It was so good to spend the weekend amongst other who love to sew! We had a great time. I worked on the pieced scrap border quilt. I admired the Red Pepper's so much.... This is made with scraps from the quilt I made my son and from projects I made for friends. It's going to be mine for on my knitting chair this Winter. It really is a fun quilt to make.

Just for a little diversion, I made some more burp cloths, a couple pillow cases and a baby receiving blanket. As always, I took more things to work on than time allowed...

I've made these little burp cloths before. They are such easy projects and such big hits with new moms.

Park City Girl did this wonderful Color Wheel Embroidery.....tempting.....

I love this patchwork drawstring bag.

At the Idea Room, she made cute embroidered hand towels last year and this year!

Getting ready for Christmas

I loved this post at Joybucket

She calls it Wrappadappadoo! I found I needed to use a 27" square piece of fabric to cover a standard shirt box. Instead of using two separate pieces, I sewed 90" of ribbon right down the center.

I didn't really like the little ribbons in the front, so I put some applique on a few for added decoration.

From 3/4 yard of fabric, I was able to make enough to wrap a box and make a small gift bag too.

Thanks Susan, for such a good idea.

That's My Boy!

My son is living in Reno. This picture was in the newspaper of him snowboarding on Boreal, this past Monday. I can barely walk across an ice covered parking lot to get to my car...and, there he is loving every moment of this stuff! He's going to school and working for Sentury Snowboards. We are looking forward to a trip out there in February or March to check it all out.

Eyelet Cardigan

Eyelet Yoke Cardigan free pattern

This can be made in size 6months to 4 years. It worked up quickly. It took slightly over one skein of Cotton Ease to make this. With three skeins, you could make two size 6 month sweaters. This is the first of two sweaters I started last week. Now, the other to complete. I'm trying hard not to start, but not finish things.....It's like my weight, a never ending battle!
